Kiminini member of parliament Maurice Kakai Bisau is on the spot after an Audit reports showed some signigican gaps that may be used or are used to loot public funds.
The audit reports for the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) in Kiminini raised by the auditor general shows alot of concerns over financial management and accountability.
The report in our Possession flaggs key issues including poor record-keeping, incomplete financial reporting, and ineffective contract management.
“The management team appears to have failed to provide crucial audit documents within the required timeframe, while procurement records have reportedly been misplaced or inaccurately documented, exposing the fund to potential misuse,” read the report released by the auditor general in parts.
The report says that the constituency leadership has failed to adherence to the public finance protocols hence exposing public funds to looting and misuse.
According to financial experts, there is a pressing need for the Kiminini MP’s led NG-CDF board to ensure Fund Account Managers maintain accurate, reliable, and complete financial records.
Experts further says that, capacity-building efforts such as training by the Public Sector Accounting Standards Board (PSASB) on financial reporting standards are essential. Without these interventions, the fund risks continued mismanagement undermining the development.
This comes after Residents vowed to sent him home for alledgly opposing key development projects.
Bissau had on a certain wassap group opposed the construction of a University in Transzoia county and falsely claimed that ;
” As much as i support having our own University in Transzoia, we don’t mutilate a district hospital to create a University. Our county health system which must be a priority has collapsed and instead of fixing it the destruction continues,” he said in a wassap group.
His allegations were false as the county government of Tranzoia had done enough in improving the health sector.
Furthermore, Tranzoia county lacks a University and residents depent on other counties to educate their children.
Area Mp Maurice Kakai Bisau has maintained a low profile and efforts to get him on phone for comments were not successful.
