When you are a Lady and a fan of the controversial Pandya Memorial Hospital then you will need to think twice, this is because a Doctor at the Hospital has allegedly changed his career and now works as a rapist.
These disturbing details have also been confirmed by the Federation of Women Lawyers in Kenya (FIDA-Kenya) who are now urging the Hospital to swiftly and immediately fire the medic for the sake of female patients’ security.
Our investigation has revealed that a female dialysis patient was badly sexually assaulted and was nearly raped after he was harassed. Another patient had also complained that the same medic had forcefully demanded that he sleep with her.
The Federation also pointed out the repeated sexual harassment and assault by a doctor during her early morning dialysis sessions over a period extending from late 2024 into 2025. The victim’s statement to the police details instances of unconsented sexual conversation, groping, and rape. These heinous acts allegedly continued despite the victim’s complaints to the hospital’s management, indicating a profound oversight or cover-up.
FIDA-Kenya has expressed deep concern over the hospital’s handling of the case, highlighting a potential attempt to conceal the misconduct. The organization is calling for the immediate suspension of the accused doctor and a thorough, transparent investigation into the hospital’s response to the victim’s allegations.
The victim, who relied on the hospital for life-sustaining dialysis treatment, reportedly endured the abuse out of fear and necessity. Her courage to come forward has sparked a broader conversation about patient safety and institutional accountability in healthcare settings.
Pandya Memorial Hospital, a reputable healthcare institution in Mombasa, now faces intense scrutiny. The hospital administration has yet to issue a public statement regarding the allegations, further fueling public outrage and concern.
This case underscores the urgent need for robust policies and mechanisms to protect patients from abuse and to ensure that healthcare providers are held to the highest ethical standards.
