The majority of Nairobi County residents have applauded city lawyer Danstan Omari’s courage and humanitarian activities amid their push to have him as the next Nairobi senator.
This comes even as Senator Edwin Sifuna’s profound silence continues amid forced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, and corruption allegations against the county government’s leadership.
Additionally, the senator has failed to put Governor Johnson Sakaja in check, even as lawyer Danstan Omari continues advocating for fairness, justice, and good governance free from corruption and embezzlement of funds.
According to those who spoke to this publication, lawyer Danstan Omari’s previous activities point to a man who is unmoved, courageous, hard-working, and a self-made leader whom they have been looking for for years.
“Look, Danstan Omari has been in courts, in the field, and in and with grieving families at the same time; this man is overworking to safeguard the rights of others,” said Bonface Muthoka, a city businessman.
Another resident said that, unlike Senator Edwin Sifuna, who rarely steps in courts to fight for the underprivileged people in the city, lawyer Danstan Omari has been spearheading key efforts that have so far positioned him as the man of the people.
” Edwin Sifuna is an advocate of the high court; however, he rarely steps into court to fight for the rights of the poor residents. He is always active on social media, and he has never been spotted giving back to society; this is why we want Lawyer Danstan Omari as our next Senator,” said Edwin Kivuva.
Recently, the Gen Zs who turned up in the streets to protest for the rights of their departed colleagues who lost their lives during the Anti-Finance Bill protests made it clear that they want Lawyer Danstan Omari as the next Nairobi senator.
”We want you on the ballot; we want you, Mr Danstan Omari. We want you in the Senate,” they chanted.
In response, Omari, through his live radio show and his communication team, vowed to stay put in the race for the Senate.
”I want to categorically state here that we are in the race for the Senate and nothing less. We must make the lives of Nairobi residents better,” he said.
