The court heard that Mugo allegedly transferred 0.2178 acres of land valued at Sh 40 million to himself contrary to the law.

According to the chargesheet, the accused person committed the offence on diverse dates between March 7, 2008, and September 16, 2016, at Kiambu Lands’ registry, contrary to the law.

The court heard that the accused person allegedly pretended that he was in a position to sell her the said piece of land that he had defrauded.

He committed the offence on diverse dates between June 6, 2016, and September 16, 2016, in Nairobi City jointly with others who are still at large.

The accused person was charged with another offence of knowingly and fraudulently uttering a forged certificate of lease for the land at Namasaka & Kariuki Advocates office situated at Pamstech House, Westlands, within Nairobi County.

The prosecution says that the accused uttered the fake lease on 5th July 2016 to Lilian Wanjiku Njeru, an advocate of the High Court of Kenya, purporting to be a genuine certificate of lease issued and signed by Jonathan Ndiragu King’ori at Kiambu District Lands’ registry.

He, however, denied the charges before Senior Principal Magistrate Martha Mutuku, who released him on Sh 3 million with the surety of the same amount or a cash bail of Sh 2 million.
