Funyula parliamentary aspirant Boris Owie Agonga has hit a legal snag after he was formally charged at the Milimani Law Courts in connection with the theft of a high-end corporate vehicle.
Agonga, who serves as a co-director at Digitalent Systems Limited, stood before Magistrate Teresa Nyangena to answer to allegations that he unlawfully appropriated company property for personal gain.
The Land Rover Discovery Dispute
At the heart of the criminal charge is a Land Rover Discovery valued at approximately Ksh 6,820,000. According to detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the vehicle was in Agonga’s possession by virtue of his senior executive role within the tech firm.
However, the prosecution contends that the transfer of the asset was fraudulent and conducted without the board’s authorisation. Court documents suggest that while Agonga was arrested on February 13, 2026, the alleged offence dates back to mid-2025.

The DCI has since recovered the luxury SUV, which is currently being held as a police exhibit pending the conclusion of the trial.
Bail and Legal Defense
During the plea hearing, Agonga denied the theft charges. His defence team argued that the matter is a civil boardroom dispute between co-directors rather than a criminal act, describing the arrest as an attempt to settle corporate scores.
Despite the high valuation of the vehicle in question, the court exercised leniency regarding the bond terms:
Release Terms: The accused was granted a cash bail of Ksh 20,000.
Next Appearance: The court has scheduled a mention for March 3, 2026, to provide further directions on the case.
As the 2027 election cycle approaches, this legal battle places a significant spotlight on the integrity of the Funyula MP aspirant, with local constituents closely watching how the “Digitalent heist” claims unfold in the corridors of justice.
