A Kenyan warehouse and an accountant have been dragged into court for allegedly stealing mobile phones worth charged with Sh18.4 million from their employer, contrary to the law.
The Case Against Manager Phyllis Muthoni Karanja and Ann Nyambura Ng’anga
Phyllis Muthoni Karanja and Ann Nyambura Ng’anga were charged before Milimani Senior Principal Magistrate Geoffrey Onsarigo, where they denied the charges.
According to the chargesheet, the two committed the offence on diverse dates between June 1, 2024, and November 24, 2025, at Redmitech EA Limited in Nairobi’s Central Business District; the two jointly stole mobile phones valued at Sh18,409,160.

The court heard that the phones were the property of Redmitech EA Limited and had come into the accused persons’ possession by virtue of their employment, with Muthoni serving as the warehouse manager and Nyambura as the accountant.
Court papers show that Nyambura, in her capacity as an accountant, allegedly falsified company records over the same period to conceal the theft of the funds which led to the said theft.
The magistrates released the accused persons on a bond of Sh2m with the surety of the same amount with a credible contact person.
