More than 5,500 healthcare stakeholders and over 200 exhibitors from 30 countries will converge at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) this September for the 10th edition of the World Health Expo Nairobi.
Running from 16–18 September 2026, the flagship commercial trade platform aims to capitalize on East Africa’s rapidly expanding healthcare sector. The regional market—estimated at USD 16.8 billion in 2025—is projected to reach USD 23.6 billion by 2034.
Significant Expansion for 2026
Under the patronage of the Ministry of Health, Kenya, the event (formerly known as Medic East Africa) has expanded significantly:
- 22% increase in exhibitor numbers compared to last year.
- 4x growth in scale, with the show floor quadrupling to 4,500 square meters.
- Proven ROI: The upcoming expo builds on the 2025 event, which generated an estimated USD 84.19 million in business transactions.
A Central Hub for Healthcare Trade
As regional trade corridors strengthen, Nairobi is solidifying its role as East Africa’s primary healthcare and logistics hub. According to World Bank data, Kenya’s health expenditure reached 5.76% of its GDP in 2026, with per capita health spending at USD 327.76.
The expo brings together international medical equipment manufacturers, regional distributors, hospital procurement teams, logistics providers, and policy makers to bridge supply gaps and reduce reliance on foreign imports.
Key Sector Focus Areas
The 2026 event will highlight products across eight core industry sectors:
- Medical Devices & Equipment
- Disposables & Consumer Goods
- Orthopedics & Physiotherapy
- Imaging & Diagnostics
- General Healthcare Services
- IT & Digital Health Solutions
- Healthcare Infrastructure

The Nairobi event is part of the broader WHX Africa network, which also hosts major regional healthcare trade shows in Lagos, Nigeria, and Johannesburg, South Africa.
