Documents show that Stephen Nyandiare introduced his friend, Kelly Radnitzer, to Olivier Omatuku, a Congolese national who reportedly had access to about 200 kilograms of gold. Radnitzer travelled from Texas to Nairobi to meet Stephen Ochieng Nyandiare and discuss the deal.

Nyandiare’s company, Zumr Africa, registered in May 2023, was listed as the handler of the deal between Omatuku and Essilux Trading, a Dubai-based minerals company. A contract outlined that an initial five kilograms of gold would be sent for refining to confirm quality before larger shipments.

Invoices were issued for taxes, legal services, and air transport. Another company, Oasis Aviation, was intended to handle the shipment, but public records at the time did not show it as a licensed carrier.

Radnitzer travelled to Dubai to await the gold, but the shipment did not arrive as expected. He later requested a refund, and USD 16,000 was returned through Dexis Investments Holdings Limited.

Nyandiare’s legal team stated that he values his reputation and viewed the situation as a matter of professional communication.

The case highlights the complexities of cross-border gold transactions and has attracted public attention, bringing scrutiny to the processes involved.
