Pemawa Firm
Security guards working under Impetus Security Ltd/Pemawa Firm have expressed major concerns over management practices, alleging a series of exploitative actions that threaten their financial stability.
Employees are complaining of serious ongoing issues with unjust salary deductions, most recently in the form of payments for insurance coverage that appear to be misappropriated.
The guards claim that the management has been instructing them to pay for an APA insurance cover, including a KSh 2,400 expense and a KSh 1,500 personal accident cover.
However, employees allege that the Paybill number provided by the company is not valid, as it supposedly belongs to a private business, rather than the official APA insurance paybill.
There are now calls for immediate intervention by the company’s owner and the APA insurance body as employees demand transparency in their compensation and benefits.
“The management of this company is mistreating us like guards. Last time it was all about deductions of money from us for uniforms, retirement benefits, and Guard Force No.
So after a lot of complaints, they’ve come up with a new form of taking guards’ salaries again, and this goes to an APA insurance cover where the kind of forms and the pay bill no that Impetus Security Ltd management is giving to their guards to pay for APA insurance last expense of Ksh.
2,400 and personal accident cover of Ksh. 1,500 is not a real paybill no because it’s someone’s business paybill no. I would like to urge the APA insurance to be aware of this because I know APA has its pay bill number, which is 511600, and the account is the member’s ID number.
Secondly, I would also like to request that the owner of this company kindly intervene so that the management of Impetus/Pemawa can stop ruining their business with this kind of harassment of the guards. Moreover, I would like the impetus management to be fair at least.
how do you expect a guard who is earning 10,000/- or 12,000 to incur all of those deductions when you know very well that some of them are parents and they have school fees, etc.? Surely, if you’re the one getting that salary minus the deductions, how will you maintain the family? An employee said.
He added, “I urge the owner of the company to make sure the management stops it. Why can’t the management of this company give payslips to their staff members so they to know the exact amount they are getting each month? The salary keeps changing by ranging from Ksh. 10,000 to Ksh. 12,000. Below are the forms of APA insurance and account number we have been given for payment of 2,400/- and 1,500/-.” He said.
They are now calling on the government and employment bodies to move with speed and stop the mess for the benefit of their welfare
